My Bluetooth isn’t working

No Sound at all

New / Unused board

If the board is brand new and there is no sound coming from the speaker when you switch the board on, it can be one of the following issues:

  1. The speaker wire has become detached from the Bluetooth unit. This is a small connector clip that can be pushed back onto the circuit board, but requires removing the bottom shell.
  2. The speaker is faulty.
  3. The Bluetooth unit is faulty.

Used board

In addition to the above issues, which can happen due to a knock or could be just due to a fault developing while in use. Sometimes if the board has had a knock the Bluetooth circuit board can become dislodged inside the shell which due to it moving around can eventually break the wires to the speaker. Another possible cause is if the board has become wet inside, this can short circuit the Bluetooth circuit and stop it working all together.

Not able to connect to Bluetooth

If there is sound when you switch the board on (announcement), but you are unable to connect to the Bluetooth with a phone, then it is probably a faulty Bluetooth circuit.

Bluetooth issues are relatively easy to fix, just a matter of taking the cover off, un-clipping the boards and replacing them. You would need a hot melt glue gun though to secure the new BT unit or speaker in place. If you or someone you know is happy to carry out the fix, we can send the spare parts no problem. We can also give you help and advice over the phone if needed. Provided you have notified us that you intend to do this, it would not invalidate your warranty in any way.
